FAS analyzed the market of ammonia nitrate used for explosive works

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) published an analytical report on its official web-site on a survey of competition on the market of ammonia nitrateused for explosive works in January 2014 - March 2015 inclusive.

Based on the survey results, FAS established that majority of consumers must replace types and grades of ammonia nitratesuitable for explosive works, for other industrial goals, for instance, as mineral fertilizers.

Determining the geographic boundaries of the goods market in question, FAS used the “hypothetical monopolist test”. The analysis helped establishing that the market geographic boundaries are the Russian Federation.

A considerable number of participants of the ammonia nitratemarket and the market structure mean moderate concentration n the analyzed period.
