With the beginning of autumn and the outset of the new academic year, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) once again opens its doors to visitors.

Schoolchildren and students, who are interested in economics and law and wish to develop their career in this field, visit the antimonopoly authority on a regular basis.

In October, FAS organized 4 educational tours attended by 87 students and 16 schoolchildren from Moscow.

October meetings at FAS started with a visit of 1-year students of economics from RUDN University. The 1-year students came to a government body for the first time so they were interested in everything: how the structural units of FAS work, the specifics of the competition law, history of antimonopoly regulation in Russia, FAS experience of international cooperation, possibility for internship at the antimonopoly body and build up a public service career. The most active students who asked the most interesting questions were given focused gifts – a book on “Competition Law in Russia”.

Another tour for students from Plekhanov State University of Economics focused on advertising law. They had a meeting with a specialist from FAS Department for Control over Advertising and Unfair Competition. Having studied a course of “Legal regulation of Advertising and PR”, students were interested in applying their knowledge in practical issues of determining unfair competition and inaccurate advertising.

Schoolchildren also were active visitors to FAS. For them FAS staff not only showed an animated cartoon about the basics of antimonopoly regulation and explained the main areas of FAS work but also suggested to take part in a quiz – “What is competition?

FAS visits for students and schoolchildren as future active market participants, is not only opening something new, it is also an important work aimed at assisting young people in the choice of their future career or job place, but most essential - it is one of the elements of preventing violations of the antimonopoly law in the future, possibility to influence the state of competitive environment and its development in just a few years.
