Students visited FAS
On 17 and 19 May 2016 the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), together with “Proekt Pro” and Consultation-and-Information Centre for Developing Entrepreneurship, Odintsovo District, the Moscow region, organized career guidance tours for high-schoolchildren and college students.
High-school pupils from No.1797 Bogorodskaya Grammar School and students from No.23 Hospitality & Management College visited FAS to learn about the main areas of work of the antimonopoly body, the law-making practice, enforcement of the updated Law “On protection of Competition” after adopting the forth package of amendments to the Law, and FAS competences and extended powers synergy.
Young visitors were interested in employment duties and responsibilities of the lawyers working with FAS Departments, opportunities for internship, selecting universities to study, career-building in public service.
Students and schoolchildren watched animated videos about FAS, while Marina Orehskova, the Head of Legal Expert Examination Unit, FAS Legal Department, gave an insight in the lawyer’s job with the antimonopoly body. Then they visited a museum of the history of antimonopoly regulation in Russia, and took part in a discussion about the benefits of competition for economic development of Russia, demonstrating profound knowledge of history, social science, and the basics of economics as well as resourcefulness.
