On 15 August 2016, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) signed an Order approving the Guidelines for calculating the tariffs for moving and safekeeping seized vehicles and setting payment deadlines.

On 16 August, the document was submitted to the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation for official registration.

The Guidelines are drafted to enforce the provisions of No. 205 Federal Law that make changes to the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Violations (1).

The document outlines the general principles and the main methods of setting tariffs for moving and safekeeping seized vehicles and the deadlines for paying for those services.

The final costs of evacuating and safekeeping vehicles will be determined through open competitive bidding.

The authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation will independently determine the payment deadlines for vehicle evacuation and safekeeping. The period, however, cannot be longer than 30 days.
