FAS exposed discriminatory conditions in actions of the Ministry of Education and Science
The Ministry of Education and Science named particular companies to certify sports equipment, facilities and gear
The antimonopoly body was approached by Russian Union of Sports Facilities Certification Centres that complained about a letter sent by theMinistry of Education and Science regarding safe operation of physical training and sports facilities in general educational institutions. The Union claims that the Appendix to the letter named economic entities operating on the market of voluntary certification of sports equipment, facilities and gear, and economic entities manufacturing them, which can lead to competition restriction.
Therefore, the act issued by the authority creates discriminatory conditions on the market of the systems of voluntary certification of sports equipment, facilities and gear, as well as on the market of children playgrounds and heath-and-fitness grounds.
The regulator has issued a warning to the Ministry of Education and Science to stop actions that have elements of violating the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” by removing the names of particular economic entities from the Letter and undertaking measures to eliminate the consequences caused by making the letter publically accessible.
