FAS approved the structure of 2016 Report on the State of Competition
Pro-competitive tariff policy is the main issue
On 20 January 2017, the Presidium of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) approved the structure of 2016 Report on the State of Competition.
In line with of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”, FAS submits such Reports annually to the Government.
The previous report was submitted in September 2016. FAS specified the main barriers preventing competition development in Russia: reinforced state monopoly trends in the economy, destruction of the system of public procurement and procurement by state-run companies, inefficient tariff regulation, unfair conduct by the, low support activity for small and medium business.
Deputy Head of FAS Sergey Puzyrevskiy stated: “The Antimonopoly Servicehas already started devising a new Report. There were several meetings with the Analytical Centre at the President of the Russian Federation, and a session of FAS Methodological Council. Based on the collected data, a structure of the new report was presented to FAS Presidium that approved it on 20 January”.
