In the new, 2017 year the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) continues the good old traditions. At the end of school vacations and at the beginning of the new term schoolchildren visited FAS with career orientation tours organized by a long-term FAS friend in the work with teenagers – “Proekt Pro” career guidance company.

8-graders from Zemsky grammar school (Balashikha) and students of “Petrovskaya” private school (Moscow) toured FAS and learned many new things about the history of antimonopoly regulation, the competition law, the principles of applying the Law “On Advertising”, etc.

Walking along the corridors of the antimonopoly authority, children found out about the work of specialized Departments that control competitive environment on the goods and financial markets in Russia, watched videos on the main areas of FAS work, questioned the staff and got answers about employment, the professions represented at FAS, learned which objectives the antimonopoly authority faces and how it achieves them. The schoolchildren found out for the first time about the antimonopoly body, for the first time they were talked with about applying experience and knowledge at public service, and that’s why there were so many questions and comments.

No one left without getting answers to their questions, explanations and clarifications illustrated with examples. School children tried to solve tasks based on particular cases from FAS practice and realized the need to obtain additional knowledge.

In the end, there were a lot of nice words from teenagers: “It was very interesting and educative. I learned many new things for myself”; “This meeting was very exciting. We were shown the reverse side of ordinary life situations in a very credible and understandable manner. Thank you! Now we will have a more careful attitude towards advertising”. This statement was especially valuable: “They showed and told us enought o make a decision on choosing a profession”.
