FAS announces the II Academic “Olympic” Contest for schoolchildren
The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) launches the II All-Russian Academic “Olympic” Contest on antimonopoly regulation for prospective 2017 university students. The contest takes place on 1 February - 1 April 2017.
The objective is to enhance the level of schoolchildren’s knowledge of antimonopoly regulation in the Russian Federation.
The Academic Olympic Contest is aimed at making the coming generation understand the importance of observing the fair competition rules, and identifying future specialists on antimonopoly regulation and competition law among today’s schoolchildren.
The II Academic Olympic Contest on antimonopoly regulation is supported by the leading Russian universities, which are prepared to give enrollment advantages to the winners.
Participants can be schoolchildren of the 11 grade (school-leavers) from educational institution of the Russian Federation. The Contest includes an individual written paper on one of the following themes under the Olympic Contest Regulations:
- The role of competition in the market economy.
- The main stages of developing the antimonopoly law in Russia.
- Social danger of concerted bid-rigging actions in concluding government contracts.
- The role of cooperation between competition authorities from different countries in competition development.
- “Advertising wars” – the winners and the losers.
- How do you understand the idea of national competition policy?
- The role of competitive environment in providing medicinal drugs in Russia.
- Import substitution: pro et contra.
- How would I develop competition if I were a governor?
Stats-Secretary, Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Tsarikovskiy said: “The I All-Russian Academic “Olympic” Contest for schoolchildren in the 2015-2016 academic year was an impressive event for FAS as well as its participants, seven of whom received supported for enrolling in the universities – the project participants. Efficient competition policy can be implemented only if there are highly-skilled antimonopoly specialists. Therefore, FAS pays considerable attention to the work with the rising generation”.
