A case against the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region

The case was opened upon failure to execute FAS warning

On 30.12.2016, Nizhny Novgorod OFAS issued a warning to the Social Policy Ministry of the Nizhny Novgorod region, based on Article 39.1 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” to terminate actions (omissions) that have signs of violating the antimonopoly law.

OFAS established elements of the violation in the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region issuing No. 804 Decree on approving the Procedure for granting subsidies from the federal budget to support sugar beetroot production in the Nizhny Novgorod region (of 24.11.2016).

The Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region failed to execute the warning of the antimonopoly body within the specified period.

Due to the failure to execute the warning, Nizhny Novgorod OFAS opened a case upon signs of violating Part 1 Article 15 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.

The case hearing is scheduled on 16 March 2017.
