The Government of the Saratov region executed a warning to stop preventing special food supply

On 27 February 2017, the Government of the Saratov region reported executing the warning to OFAS.

Earlier Saratov OFAS warned the Government of the Saratov region to terminate actions that had signs of violating the antimonopoly law.

The Procedure for supplying adequate nutrition (specialized products) to pregnant women, nursing mothers and infants under the age of three years, approved by a Decree of the Government of the Saratov region, established that these categories of the population are provided specialized products through pharmacy institutions.

This condition eliminated possibility to supply specialized products through other categories of economic entities, which had elements of violating Part 1 Article 15 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.

Saratov OFAS press-release emphasized: “To execute the warning to terminate actions that have signs of violating the antimonopoly law, the Government of the Saratov region made an amendment to the Decree, according to which specialized food products will be supplied, particularly, through special outlets for nutrition and trade (retailers). Retailers and suppliers of specialized products are selected under the Law on Contractual System”.
