The Ministry of Economic Development of the Saratov region executes OFAS warning

On terminating preferential conditions for the “First Volga Wine-and-Vodka Works” Ltd.

On 2 March 2017, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Saratov region reported on executing the warning. 

Earlier Saratov OFAS warned the Ministry of Economic Development of the Saratov region to terminate actions that have signs of violating the antimonopoly law. Actions of the Ministry on creating conditions for economic and geographic availability of alcohol produced the “First Volga Wine-and-Vodka Works” Ltd. to the population had signs of breaching Part 1 статьи 15 Закона о защите конкуренции.

To execute the warning, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Saratov region nullified the materials and terminated monitoring representation of local-made vodka in retail facilities and positioning it “at eye level” on store shelves in order to increase sales. The Ministry also withdrew letters enquiring information on the scope of retail sales of local-made vodka and obligated to continuously take measures to exclude actions designed to create preferential conditions for operation of the “First Volga Wine-and-Vodka Works” Ltd.
