“Computerra.Ru” can be fined for failure to submit information
FAS opened an administrative case against the company
In the course of an unscheduled inspection in February-May 2017, “Computerra.Ru” Ltd. was requested to submit information to the antimonopoly body.
FAS requested information about one of the company’s product – pricing control software.
The program monitors goods prices in the Internet, allows control over the minimum recommended retail prices, produces reports to the brand owner and send warnings to the “violators” that deviate from the common pricing policy.
A similar investigation is being conducted by the European Commission: the regulator accuses “Asus”, “Denon & Marantz”, “Philips” and “Pioneer” of price manipulation. They prevent on-line shops to independently set product prices; the stores use software that automatically adjusts prices for the main market players. Thus, price regulation of producers affected retail prices for devices in general.
FAS requested “Computerra.Ru” Ltd. to submit a register of contracts, agreements on joining a sub-licensing contract to use “Competerra” software from 2014 and the list of companies and persons that are users of software products of “Computerra.Ru”.
The company, however, ignores the FAS request and failed to timely provide the necessary information.
An administrative case was opened against “Computerra.Ru” Ltd. under the Code on Administrative Violations; the company can be fined upon to 500,000 RUB.
