Inter-departmental meeting in Lipetsk on suppressing cartels and other anticompetitive agreements

Head of FAS Anti-Cartel Department Andrey Tenishev took part in a meeting of representatives of regulators and law enforcement bodies on countering cartels. The event was organized by the Prosecutor of the Lipetsk region*.

Head of Lipetsk OFAS Irina Potkina pointed out: “Cartels are the heaviest violations of the antimonopoly law that incur administrative and criminal liability. These are latent agreement that adversely affect the regional economy and to expose them we need help of the law enforcement bodies. The meeting shows full understanding of the issue and a high level of cooperation”.

Andrey Tenishev discussed with the colleagues the need to reinforce the work of the antimonopoly and the law enforcement bodies to ensure inevitability of punishment for such serious economic crimes as cartels. He emphasized: “We exchange opinions on cartel operations in various fields of the economy of the Lipetsk region and I have full understanding that with out joint efforts cartels will be suppressed and the violators will be punished”.
