FAS terminated administrative proceedings against Google

The decisions was due to an amicable settlement reached between the antimonopoly authority and the company

On 25 April 2017, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) terminated the proceedings against Google opened for failure to execute a FAS injunction.

The background: FAS fined the company for failure to execute its injunctions. In December 2016 FAS again opened administrative proceedings (Article19.5 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Violations) upon Google omissions to undertake measures designed to form a competitive environment in the field of information technologies.

The investigation session was scheduled on 25 April 2017 but since on 17 April the Cassation Court approved the amicable settlement between FAS and the company, the antimonopoly authority stopped administrative proceedings.

Deputy Head of FAS Sergey Puzyrevskiy pointed out: "Hopefully, the Google Corporation is going to honour the undertaken obligations on executing the amicable settlement and in the near future will pay the fines imposed upon the company”.
