FAS will encourage cooperation with ERRA
Deputy Head of FAS Vitaly Korolev had working meetings with top executives of the regulatory bodies from Moldova, Hungary, Bulgaria and Estonia at an event of the Energy Regulators Regional Association
On 22 May 2017, the General Assembly of the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA) was in session in Tbilisi (Georgia), attended by representatives of tariff regulators from 30 countries. The delegation of the Federal Antimonopoly Service was led by Deputy Head of FAS Vitaly Korolev. ERRA Chairman Märt Ots, General Director of Estonian Competition Authority, moderated the session.
Mr. Alparslan Bayraktar (former ERRA Chairman and Presidium Member; former Member of the Board of EMRA, Turkey), Mr. Mirsad Salkic (Founding Member of ERRA, former ERRA Presidium Member; former Chairman and Commissioner of SERC, Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Mr. Jozef Holjencik (former ERRA Presidium Member; former Chairman of RONI Slovakia) were unanimously elected as Honorary Members of ERRA. The General Assembly also elected ERRA Presidium.
Participants heard and discussed a report on ERRA activities in 2016, ERRA financial and audit report as well as the Working Plan and possible prospects of ERRA cooperation in 2017-2018.
Acting Chairman of the Committee for Regulating Natural Monopolies, Protection of Competition and Consumer Rights, the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Azamat Matiev, delivered an extended report on preparing to the annual ERRA Conference on investments and electric power industry regulation which will take place in Astana (Kazakhstan) on 25-26 September 2017.
Deputy Head of FAS Vitaly Korolev had working meetings with top executives of the regulatory bodies from Moldova, Hungary, Bulgaria and Estonia at ERRA General Assembly meeting. He paid special attention to such large projects of Russian antimonopoly body as the National Competition Development Plan and a draft Federal Law “On state regulation of prices (tariffs)” devised by FAS.
Vitaly Korolev outlined the event results: “Cooperation with ERRA is essential and has a priority because it unites representatives of numerous foreign tariff regulators and FAS will facilitate in every way development of cooperation with Association as well as between its member-state”.
