Alexei Matyukhin: unifying the payment calculation procedure for connecting to the water supply systems will make it more accessible for consumers

The Working Group on Water Supply and Drainage at FAS Expert Council on the Housing-and-Utilities Sector

discussed pressing issues of calculating and applying payment for connecting to the water supply and drainage systems as well as legislative initiatives in the part of improving the current law, regulating the payment calculation procedure as well as particular controversial issues of tariff regulation over water supply and drainage.

The Working Group Chairman, Head of FAS Department for Control over Housing and Public Utilities, Alexei Matuykhin paid special attention to the concept of unified standardized tariff rates for connection in the Russian Federation. He pointed out: “Implementing the proposed solutions will help standardize the payment calculation procedure for connection to the water supply and drainage systems, and will make it more transparent and accessible for consumers”.

Based on the outcome of the Working Group meeting, Alexei Matuykhin asked the event participants to forward their proposals to FAS on amendments to the current regulatory acts for their further consideration and discussion.
