Head of FAS pointed out positive changes in sectoral ministries executing their Road Maps for developing competition. In particular, he praised the Ministry of Labour of the Russian Federation for special success in precompetitive policy.
Igor Artemiev reminded on the need to amend the Law on the basic principles of tariff regulation, which in his opinion, has a number of shortcomings and weak points.
He also informed the Head of regional FAS Offices about his appearance at the 16th Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Competition Law and Policy of UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva just before the event.
Head of FAS also touched the reform of control-and-supervision activity and called upon his colleagues to systematically reduce administrative burden upon business.
Prime-Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Alexei Pesoshin, also took part in the meeting. He shared experiences of organizing joint training programmes with FAS Centre for Education and Methodics and expressed hope for further productive cooperation.
The Centre is involved in educational, research and other activities on the pressing issues of competition regulation.
FAS Centre for Education and Methodics opened on 12 September 2012.
The objective of FAS Centre for Education and Methodics: support qualification advancement and professional retraining of specialists of the Federal Antimonopoly Service and its regional Offices on the main areas of work, public servants of other authorities and officers of the competition authorities of the CIS states as well as develop applied research and projects on modern aspects of competition regulation, initiating their discussions in the academic environment.
FAS Centre for Education and Methodics also is a base organization of the CIS member-states on professional retraining and advancing qualification of staff in antimonopoly regulation and competition policy.
