First trading with timber obtained in the course of sanitary-and-curative events in the Perm region

On 25 August 2017 the Perm region conducted its first trading with timber obtained in the course of sanitary-and-curative events at St Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX).

Sales reached 830 m³, final lot cost - 473 100 RUB, which is 3.6% above the initial price.

Trading with products of companies from the Perm region started in March 2017 with support of FAS, the Government of the Perm region and Perm Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

Timber exchange trading project was implements to execute the instructions given by President Vladimir Putin at the session of the State Council of the Russian Federation in April 2013.

The need to submit proposals on exchange sale of produced cutting forest range by government entities, is specified in the Instruction of the President of the Russian Federation of 31 January 2017 (No.Pr. -173).

Trading with timber produced in the course of sanitary-and-curative operations also take place in the Irkutsk region. Since October 2015 the total scope of trading has exceeded 1.1 m³.

Head of FAS Department for Regulating Fuel-and-Energy Complex, Dmitry Makhonin emphasized: “Development of exchange trading encourages fair market prices. Successful sales timber produced in the course of sanitary-and-curative operations has become an important measure in advancing modern technologies of exchange treading in the Perm region”.
