Electric power tariffs for consumers in Buryatia go down from 1 September

FAS Board made the decision on 31 July 2017

A Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation included the Republic of Buryatia in the regions with specific performance of wholesale and retail electric power markets.

“FAS, jointly with the federal and regional authorities, has undertaken efforts, to draft and make a decision on reducing the costs of electric power for industrial consumers. From 1 September tariffs for consumer at low voltage are reduced by 25%”, said Deputy Head of FAS Vitaly Korolev. “In March 2017 the antimonopoly body agreed upon reducing electric power tariffs for the population in Byryatia by 7.3%”.

“Due to such reduction, businesses, first of all small and medium companies will get additional savings that they can spend for enhancing capacity and scope of production, and, as a consequence, reduce prices for the regional products and increase its competitiveness”, added Vitaly Korolev.
