FAS opened a new Department in St Petersburg State University
On 8 September, Head of FAS Igor Artemiev gave a lecture to University students and took part in an official ceremony of opening the Department of Theory and Practice of Antimonopoly Regulation
"We plan to pursue a multi-disciplinary approach at the Department. Today FAS deals not only with monopolies but also many other issues on the agenda”, said Head of FAS Igor Artemiev. “They include regulation of the digital economy system, public procurement, tariff regulation, unfair competition and much more”. He pointed out that the Department team will prepare study guides unifying the leading world practices on antimonopoly regulation.
The new unit of St Petersburg State University will employ, in particular, officers of the Federal Antimonopoly Service. Apart from antimonopoly regulation, the Department graduates will be able to apply their knowledge in quite diverse fields of legal profession.
An assistant to Head of FAS, lecturer of St Petersburg State University, Alevtina Timoshenko, will be Head of the Department. The inter-disciplinary Department will be located in the University building on Smolny Street.
