It includes a definition of “competitive environment” for the purposes of monitoring as well as determining the most significant parameters of the state and development of competition on the regional markets. “The unified method for evaluating the state of competitive environment on the markets of RF subjects will help optimize the work of the authorities in the RF subjects on market analysis to adopt measures towards their development”, said Irina Zolotukhina.

Zurfira Akbasheva, an assistant to Head of FAS, also took part in the Round Table. She emphasized: “Evaluating competition, the authorities should consider impact of their decisions upon competition. Simply increasing the number of economic entities and fairs does not mean developing competitive relations. Only actual competition can improve economic indicators, open new opportunities for the population, and support the desire to be in business, decrease the costs of goods and services”.
