FAS approved the rates for services in “Platov” airport
Long-term regulated airports fees and tariffs for ground services in the new airport complex in Rostov-on-Don are set by the antimonopoly body under the current technique and investment parameters, approved by the Government Transport Commission.
The Legal Commission also approved the technical project parameters (investment sum, terminal area and capacity) and investors were given the state financial guarantee of the Russian Federation.
The approved tariffs were supported by the Government of the Rostov region and specialized bodies – the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry for Economic Development.
The application initially submitted by the airport was optimized significantly, which will reduce the burden upon airlines.
According to the project, the new “Platov” airport complex will be built up in an open field 29 km from the city. It will be a modern airport with the capacity 2 000 passenger per hour and 50,000 m³ passenger terminal area. The quality of consumer services in the new airport will be enhanced considerably.
FAS emphasizes that no price growth on the Rostov-on-Don route after the new tariffs are set is expected, because prices on this route are formed under competitive market conditions.
Should abuses by airlines and unreasonable price growth be exposed, FAS shall apply antimonopoly remedies.
