FAS EXPERIENCE OF ANTIMONOPOLY CONTROL IN TRADING IS SHARED WITH THE COLLEAGUES FROM KYRGYZIA
The discussion took place at the VI Russia-Kyrgyzia Interregional Conference
On 14-16 December 2017, Bishkek (Kyrgyzia) hosted the VI Russia-Kyrgyzia Interregional Conference, organized by the Ministry for Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Conference discussed, in particular, deepening bilateral interaction in the field of interregional cooperation, agriculture, transport and logistics, and digital economy.
Mikhail Gulenkov, Deputy Head of Commerce and Non-Productive Services Unit, FAS Department for Control Social Sphere and Trade, outlined Russian experience of antimonopoly control over compliance with the law on trade. He informed the Conference about the main provisions of the Law on trade, FAS powers to control commercial activities and the basic findings of inspections of retail chains, carried out by FAS regional Offices in 2017, executing instructions of the Government of the Russian Federation.
Head of FAS Department for Control Social Sphere and Trade, Timophei Nizhegorodtsev pointed out: “Disseminating positive experience of antimonopoly control over commercial activities at the international level is very important for cooperation towards developing competition. FAS believes that the accumulated experience of control over compliance with the law on trade will be useful to the colleagues from foreign antimonopoly bodies and improve state regulation of this sector”.
