IGOR ARTEMIEV AND ALEXANDER BRECHALOV SIGNED AN ACTION PLAN ON IMPLEMENTING THE AGREEMENT IN COOPERATION

On 29 January 2018 Head of FAS Igor Artemiev and Head of Udmurtia, Alexander Brechalov, signed the Action Plan for implementing the Agreement on Cooperation between FAS and the Government of the Udmurtia Republic for 2018.

“FAS is greatly satisfied to sign the Agreement that will bring our cooperation to a new level. It gives us new hopes, particularly, for developing competition in your region”, stated Head of the Antimonopoly Service Igor Artemiev. “The National Competition Development Plan approved in December 2017 will unite our efforts to pursue the state competition policy”.  

Igor Artemiev conveyed good wishes to Alexander Brechalov and his team to implement the shaped plans.

The Agreement covers organization of different events in Udmurtia aimed at intensifying competition in state, municipal and corporate procurement, enhancing efficiency of state and municipal property management, attracting investments to social spheres, particularly, on the basis of public (municipal) partnership, implementing of the Competition Development Standard in the Udmurtia Republic, etc.

It is expected that as a result of joint efforts in 2018 the number of violations will reduce and the number of participants of competitive bidding in public procurement will increase.

The Action Plan also covers natural monopolies. Joint efforts of FAS and the Government of the Udmurtia Republic will increase transparency of operations of natural monopolies and eliminate the current regulatory uncertainties.

As expected results of cooperation, the parties set a task to prevent unreasonable price growth for socially important food products.  FAS and Udmurtia Government also plan to increase accessibility and quality of services in pre-school education and passenger carriage by ground transport, as well as reduce the level of violations and anticompetitive actions by the authorities in the Udmurtia Republic.
