Evaluating new Tele2 tariffs, FAS Commission finds them economically justified

Since 15 February 2018, “Т2 Mobile” (Tele2) puts in effect new tariffs for communications services in Crimea and Sebastopol for all subscribers – physical persons.

The tariffs for incoming voice overs are reduced fivefold - from 5 RUB to 1 RUB/min, outgoing calls – from 5 RUB to 3 RUB/min. Access to the Internet - from 5 RUB to 3 RUB per Mb; for SMS – from 3.50 to 3 RUB per message. The condition applies to all subscriber base; and connecting additional options is not necessary.

“On 14 December 2017, another communications provider - “VympelCom” PJSC reduced its tariffs for the services in Crimea and Sebastopol”, reminded Deputy Head of FAS Anatoly Golomolzin.

FAS considers it as a result of joint efforts of communications providers, FAS and the Government of the Republic of Crimea.

FAS is currently considering cases against two other providers – “MegaPhon” PJSC, “MTS” PJSC.

“If economically unreasonable tariffs for communications services in Crimea are fixed, the Commission can issue injunctions to “MegaPhon” and “MTS”, particularly, to transfer unlawfully obtained income to the budget of the Russian Federation.
