THE LAW TIGHTENING CONTROL OVER UNLAWFUL USE OF FIFA SYMBOLS COMES INTO EFFECT
For breaching fair competition Rules specified in the World Cup Act, FAS shall open cases without warnings
On 4 May 2018, the amendments to Article 20 of the World Cup Act, some by-laws and Article 53 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”, made by No. 91-FZ Federal Law of23.04.2018, came into effect.
They exclude actions classified as unfair competition and listed in Article 20 of the World Cup Act from the list of antimonopoly violations, for which the antimonopoly authority has to issue warnings to stop the violations prior to open cases.
The amendments will be in force until 15 August 2018 inclusive.
