MORE THAN 400,000 RUB FINE FOR FALSE ASSOCIATION WITH FIFA

Kaliningrad companies are punished for writing “L-clinic. The “World Cup official dental clinic”

On 18 June 2018, Kaliningrad OFAS fined [1] “Dental practice of Dr Lebedev” Ltd. and “Lebedev Clinic” Ltd. and their top executives. The total fines reached 424,000 RUB.

Administrative cases were opened upon a decision of the Commission of Kaliningrad OFAS on the cases against the companies that had placed an advertising banner with the following text: “L-clinic. The World Cup official dental clinic”. OFAS found that the defendants violated the Federal Law “On organizing FIFA 2018World Cup in the Russian Federation, 2017 FIFA Confederation Cup and making amendments to some legislative acts of the Russian Federation" [2] and the Law “On Protection of Competition” [3].
