FAS received a petition from “Tele2”about extending the deadline for executing the injunction on national roaming

On 19 April, the Antimonopoly Service found that “Tele2” breached Clause 1 Part 1 Article 10 of the in the part of fixing and maintaining  monopolistically high tariffs for communications services in the national roaming and issued an injunction to eliminate the violation.

By 31 May, the operator was required to set and introduce subscriber tariffs at an economically justified level in Russia (except Crimea). “Tele2” voluntarily reduced subscriber tariffs in Crimea in the course of the investigation.

Having analyzed whether the petition is justified and taking into consideration an earlier approved petition on extending the deadline for executing the warning on “intra-network” roaming for “Tele2” until 31 August, technical limitations for tuning and changing billing by operators for the period of FIFA-2018 World Cup, FAS believes that the petition is reasonable and allows to extend the injunction deadline.

Thus, by 31.08.2018 intra-network” roaming will be abolished for all “Tele2” subscribers, and tariffs for communications services in national roaming will be set at an economically justified level.
