FAS AND KOMI GOVERNMENT SIGNED AN AGREEMENT ON COOPERATION
Head of Komi, Sergey Gaplikov, and Deputy Head of FAS, Alexander Redko signed the Agreement on 26 July
The Agreement will unite the efforts of the region and the antimonopoly body aimed at developing and protecting competition, creating conditions for effective market performance, increasing investment activity and observing the antimonopoly law in the Komi Republic.
“The President of Russia Vladimir Putin set serious strategic goals for us. Successful development of regional economies and the national economy in general as well as improvement of the quality of life and satisfaction with the quality of goods and services depend on fulfilling them. It is of principal importance for us that we are working together with the Antimonopoly Service on these goals. The Agreement is another confirmation. No doubt, through joint efforts we will execute the tasks outlined in theNational Competition Development Plan”, emphasizedSergey Gaplikov.
“I am pleased to state that Komi has had the “Road Map” for already two years, and it has become a truly working tool related to other strategic planning documents. It is essential that both Komi residents and businessmen see positive changes. FAS monitoring shows that Komi actively involves private carriers on inter-municipality routes, has high indicators for developing private pharmacies, and is expanding access to the internet. Positive trends are observed in SME procurement”, pointed out Alexander Redko.
During the working meeting Sergey Gaplikov and Alexander Redko discussed collaboration to form competitive environment in Komi, support SME, reduce administrative barriers and engage businessmen and social non-profit entities in rendering pubic and municipal services.
Komi Council on strategic development and priority projects discussed developing competitive environment in more details. The meeting, where Deputy Head of FAS and other representatives of the antimonopoly body participated, was chaired by Komi Head Sergey Gaplikov.
