FAS CONTINUES INVESTIGATING SIGNS OF A CARTEL ON THE AUTO GLASS MARKET
FAS collaborates with foreign competition authorities
The case is opened against “AG Expert Rus” Ltd., “AGC” Bor Glass Works” OJSC and “Carglass” Ltd. upon sings of violating Clause 1 Part 1 Article 11 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”: concluding a potential anticompetitive agreement that could have led to fixing or maintaining prices on the auto glass market.
An analysis of the information available shows that “Carglass” Ltd. and “AGC” Bor Glass Works” OJSC attempted to push a competitor – “RAVT” Ltd. from the market of services for auto glass replacing and repair under agreements with insurance companies. FAS believes that if cooperation with “RAVT” Ltd. continued, its partners were “RAVT” Ltd. put in a disadvantageous position in comparison with those who refused to cooperate.
Since defendants are daughter companies of foreign economic entities, FAS sent enquiries to foreign antimonopoly bodies of the Netherlands, Luxemburg, the UK, Belgium, Japan and China to collaborate in the course of the investigation.
The next meeting of FAS Commission will be held on 30 July 2018.
