DANIIL FESYUK: FAS WILL HELP PROTECT REGIONAL ECONOMY FROM “VILLAINES”

On 27 July 2018 Deputy Head of FAS Daniil Fesyuk had a meeting with Head of Chuvashia, Mikhail Ignatiev

 

The parties discussed implementation of the National Competition Development Plan, approved by the President of Russia in December 2017, and Presidential Orders issued following the State Council.

 

Deputy Head of FASinformed that Chuvashiais on the leading positions and the current Competition Development Standard is 100% executed.

 

According to Mikhail Ignatiev, Chuvashia authorities are ready for constructive cooperation to eliminate factors deterring development of competition. He also pointed out that the visit of FAS top officer actors would give an additional impulse for developing competitive environment in the region.

 

“Nothing but competition can force product prices down. As a result of implementing the targets of the National Plan and Presidential Orders, end-consumers will feed that the economic climate has changed. We endeavour to improve economic performance and competitiveness of economic entities”, explained Daniil Fesyuk.

 

The Competition Development Standard for regions requires devising key indicators by the regions for the priority sectors of the economy. At least 33 out of 41 sectors must be selected.

 

Daniil Fesyuk called upon Chuvashi leadership to closely cooperate with sectoral ministries, devising the Road Map” on developing competition in the region.

 

“With support of the local authorities, regional companies should demonstrate efficiency and then they will keep the markets. The FAS job is to protect them from those who use various twists and turns to get orders and resell them for next to nothing”, said Daniil Fesyuk.

 

Deputy Head of FASspecially discussed implementation of a system of antimonopoly compliancefor the authorities. FAS has drafted the relevant guidelines. Antimonopoly compliance is a set of measures designed to achieve conformity of the work of the authorities to the antimonopoly law and to reduce and prevent violations. Antimonopoly compliance also can increase the level of legal culture of public bodies.

 

By 2020 the region must decrease the number of antimonopoly violations by the authorities at least twofold.

 

FAS and the Government of Chuvashia signed an Agreement on Cooperation.
