EQUAL ECONOMIC CONDITIONS RETUNED TO MILK PRODUCERS IN THE IVANOVO REGION
The Government of the Ivanovo region fully executed FAS injunction and made amendments to the Procedure on subsidies for increasing productivity of dairy cattle breeding
On 5 June 2018, FAS found that the Government of the Ivanovo region violated the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”1. Its Decree2 created discriminatory conditions for particular regional agricultural producers that sell and ship milk for own processing. The Decree could have restricted competition on the raw milk market.
FAS issued an injunction to the Government of the Ivanovo region to stop violating the antimonopoly law and exercise actions designed to support competition. The Government of the Ivanovo region had to amend the Decree within three months and eliminate the causes of violating the antimonopoly law.
On 21 August 201, the Government of the Ivanovo region amended3 the subsidies procedure for increasing productivity of dairy cattle breeding, therefore, fully and timely executing the injunction of the antimonopoly authority.
“Changes to the subsidies Procedure mean that agricultural producers entitled to subsidies will operate in equal economic conditions”emphasized Anna Mirochinenko, Head of FAS Department for Control over Agro-Industrial Complex.
