FAS AND KALMYKIA SIGNED AN AGREEMENT ON COOPERATION
The Agreement was singed by Deputy Head of FAS Alexander Redko and Head of Kalmykia, Alexei Orlov
During the working meeting on 13 November 2018, the parties emphasized a significant role of the National Competition Development Plan in improving Russian economy.
Alexei Orlovpointed out a trend toward positive development of competition in Kalmykia. He said, for instance, that Kalmykia has a Coordination Council for competition support and the Road Map is being implemented efficiently.
Kalmykia has determined 35 key targets for competition development approved by the antimonopoly body. Among them, 23 targets are set higher than the key targets specified by FAS.
Under the National Plan goals, by 2022, the share of public procurement from small business must double; году and the share of procurement by state-run companies from small and medium companies must increase to 18%.
Head of Kalmykia stated that “today the figure for Kalmykia is already 27.8%”. He assured that in spite of it the efforts for increasing the scope of procurement from small and medium business in the region will continue.
“I am confident that the measures that we included in the Road Map will help improve the economic climate in the region considerably”, concluded Alexei Orlov.
In his turn, Alexander Redko emphasized that “rather than dry figures, it is essential that citizens’ perception that the situation is improved”.
Other participants included the Minister Тof the Republic of Kalmykia for Economy and Trade, Zoya Sandzhieva; and Head of FAS Transport Regulation Department, Adilya Btaseleva.
The parties signed an Agreement on Cooperation and expressed hopes for further productive collaboration towards developing competition.
