FOR MEDIA AND REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ALCOHOL SECTOR
FAS would like to report the following due to publications in mass media regarding FAS position about No. 566916-7 draft law*
On 23 November 2018, FAS reviewed a draft law on additional restrictions for retail sale of alcohol products and submitted it to the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation.
The competition authority indicated that “introducing a unified procedure for placing information about harm of alcohol products will not put excessive burden upon producers of alcohol products and will unify information published on the labels of such products. At the same time adding pictures (including pictograms), demonstrating possible consequences of abusing alcohol products, to text messages would be excessive”.
FAS believes that it is inexpedient to write “Alcohol kills” on the bottle labels.
