MOSCOW OFAS ISSUED A WARNING TO “VODOCANAL”
For nearly two years, the municipal enterprise has managed to avoid renewing contracts for new capacities
The warning is issued in the course of investigating an antimonopoly case against “Vodocanal”, opened upon a statement filed by “Russian Railways” OJSC.
Investigating the case, Moscow OFAS established that “Bekasovo Yard” station, commissioned by “Russian Railways” OJSC does not have the necessary water drainage facilities.
The station sewage is connected to a pipeline of “Mosvodocanal” JSC but discharge of sewage waters takes place at the water treatment facilities of “Vodocanal” municipal unitary enterprise.
Due to an increased discharge, “Russian Railways” OJSC applied to “Mosvodocanal” JSC, which, in its turn, approached “Vodocanal” to increase the discharge to the water treatment facilities.
For nearly two years, however, “Vodocanal” has been avoiding contract renewals for new capacities. The company refers to absence technical possibility to increase volumes. Moscow OFAS issued a warning to “Vodocanal” to stop avoiding, which prevents regulating water drainage from “Bekasovo Yard” station by “Russian Railways” OJSC.
If “Vodocanal” executes the warning of Moscow OFAS within the designated period, the case against the company will be terminated and is will not be held administratively liable for violating the antimonopoly law.
