MAGADAN OFAS OPENED A CASE AGAINST THE “AEROFLOT” GROUP OF PERSONS

Case is opened upon the outcome of investigating a statement of the Governor of the Magadan region on increasing freight airfare for to 345 Rub per kg in April 2018

In January 2019, the Commission of Magadan OFAS held the first session to investigate the case opened upon certain signs of breaching the antimonopoly law by the “Aeroflot” group of persons: fixing monopolistically high prices for the services of freight and postal air transportation on the Moscow – Magadan route.

Passenger, freight and postal airfares for the population of the Magadan region are a socially important issue. Often, the only way to deliver urgent, perishable, of special value and other goods to remote and hard-to-reach areas, such as the Magadan region, is by air.

The next case hearing is scheduled on 7 February 2019.
