VLADIMIR MISHELOVIN: WHAT KIND OF FUTURE AWAITS ALCOHOL MARKETS?
"Last year FAS was concerned with different conditions for alcohol products turnover in different subjects of the Russian Federation. It is our earnest conviction that some regional “inventions” on restricting and banning trade with alcohol products harm consumers, budges and fair-competition relations. While illegal and counterfeit products are in circulation, the threat to harm population health and damage the economy of bona fide market participants continues", said Head of FAS Fiscal Control Department Vladimir Mishelovin, opening the XIV Alco Congress and the V Wine Forum.
He pointed out that additional product quality control measures are necessary. A risk-oriented approach should be applied here, however, to avoid overloading fair producers and distributors, long-established on the market, with additional control and excessive attention.
"A model control standard for all regions should be approved at the federal level", emphasized Vladimir Mishelovin.
He also said that currently the Unified State Automated Information System (USAIS) is not simply a system for control over alcohol products circulation but an incentive to develop the internet in the outermost corners of Russia.
“Hopefully, USAIS will overstep to the space of the Eurasian Economic Union in the years to come", concluded Vladimir Mishelovin.
