FAS AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE NIZHNY NOVGOROD REGION SIGNED AN AGREEMENT ON COOPERATION
The document is signed by Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service Igor Artemiev and Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin
The Agreement determines interactions between the parties in different areas, including development and protection of competition, creating conditions for efficient market performance, increasing informational awareness of executive authorities and local self-government bodies, compliance with the antimonopoly law in the region, etc.
The interaction will take place under the frame of executing the Order of the President of the Russian Federation that approved the National Plan for Developing Competition in Russia in 2018-2020. All regions of the Russian Federation approved at least 33 priority areas out of 41 and on this basis regional Road Maps on competition development will be devised. Regions may add other industries and sectors of the economy to this list in view of their geographic, climatic and other specific features.
Head of FAS Igor Artemiev pointed out: “After a new regional leader was elected, competition development has got a new dynamics. The population of the Nizhny Novgorod region has already appreciated the benefit of competition support for themselves: the quality of services, new jobs. We wish every success to your Governor and are fully confident that they will come in the near future”.
