FAS SUMMED UP RESULTS OF “POINT OF GROWTH” ESSAY CONTEST - UNDERGRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS

FAS held an award ceremony and handed over memorable gifts to the winners of the “Point of Growth” essay contest for undergraduate and postgraduate students from Moscow and Moscow region

 

IV National Essay Contest – “Point of Growth” for undergraduate and postgraduatestudents, where more than 600 participants from 47 cities and towns of Russia participate, is over.

 

The Contest objective is to attract attention of young people to competition law and understanding the need to protect competitive environment. FAS wants to use it in order to increase legal culture of students and enable them to announce and demonstrate and their civic standpoint.

 

All contestants who sent individual works received electronic Certificates of Participation. 11 universities in Russia and 15 lecturers were given FAS “Letters of Appreciation” for strong contribution in upbringing and educating young people, popularizing the idea of fair competition and its significant in the national economy.

 

41 participants from 13 regions of Russia became the winners of the Essay Contest – “Point of Growth”, including 11 laureates who took the 1st Place in different Categories:

 

1. Volkova Elizaveta, Ivanovo branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Ivanovo. Category: “Do BIG DATA and algorithms help develop competition or restrict choice?”;

 

2. Daria Zrazhevskaya, Siberian Federal University, Krasnoyarsk. Category: “Antimonopoly compliance: does it help avoid violations or stimulates risk-oriented approach in corporate business?”;

 

3. Igor Grigorenko, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Moscow. Category: “Deregulating particular fields of natural monopolies: pluses and minuses for the economy of the Russian Federation”;

 

4. Tatiana Yuzhakova, Chelyabinsk branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Chelyabinsk. Category: “Pardon impossible to execute. Is criminal liability for cartels necessary?”;

 

5. Ilshat Hismatov, High School of Economics - National Research University, Moscow. Category: “How do “likes” in social media are transformed in money, or how opinions and market power can be monopolized?”;

 

6. Marina Valentik, Vladimir State University named after Stoletovs brothers, Vladimir. Category: “Unfair competition on e-platforms and methods to counter this phenomenon”;

 

7. Elena Gavrina, Crimea Federal University named after Vernadsky, Simferopol. Category: “Developing competition under digital economy”;

 

8. Olga Kulakova, Vladimir State University named after Stoletovs brothers, Vladimir. Category: "Advertising war": a healthy competition tool or a non-constructive business strategy?”;

 

9. Natalia Marchenko, State University of Management, Moscow, Category: “The role of competition policy in developing markets relations in the Russian Federation: challenges and solution prospects”;

 

10-11. The first place in the Category: “Procurement digitalization, pluses and minuses of the transition of electronic procurement” shared two students – Tatiana Belotserkovskaya, Samara State University of Economics, Samara, and Taisia Garanina, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Moscow. Their works were distinguished by deep analysis and a novel view on digitalization of public procurement.

 

Deputy Head of FAS Rachik Petrosyan extended a warm welcome to the ceremony participants, he congratulated the winners and expressed hope for their further interest in cooperation: “We are glad to have such a big team of winners and with great pleasure would like to invite all of you for internship with FAS and its regional Offices so that you can feel “live”, in practice the work of the Antimonopoly Service in actual antimonopoly cases, flow into the process and make decisions about your further professional career”.

 

All laureates and awardees, who took 2nd and 3rd places are also invited for internship with FAS or its regional offices whenever it is convenient for them. The winners of the Essay Contest – “Point of Growth” from 12 regions of Russia will receive electronic Diplomas and an invitation for the award ceremony at FAS regional offices where they will receive congratulations and memorable gifts.
