ANNOUNCEMENT: THE VI BRICS COMPETITION CONFERENCE, MOSCOW

BRICS 2019 Conference will be attended by Heads of competition authorities from BRICS, Western and Eastern Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa, the CIS and the Eurasian Economic Union, international organizations and integration associations (OECD, UNCTAD, the EU), representatives of legislative, executive and judicial bodies of the Russian Federation, the academic community and FAS Central Office and regional Offices.

 

The key Conference events:

 

Plenary session 1: “Developing competition policy and law in BRICS countries” - the participants will discussimportant changes in the antimonopoly law and development of competition policy and antimonopoly regulation in BRICS economies.

18 September 2019 at 11:10-12:30.

 

Plenary session 2: “Cooperation between BR$ICS competition authorities” -will focus on achieving cooperation between BRICS antimonopoly authorities and its impactupon global competition policy.

18 September 2019 at 15:30-17:30.

 

Plenary session 3: “Developing competition n the digital epoch” – a discussion on the key issues of competition development and improvement of the antimonopoly law under the conditions of digital economy.

19 September 2019 at 11:40-13:30.

The Ceremony of signing a Joint Statement of Head of BRICS competition authorities (a Declaration of the leaders of BRICS competition authorities outlining the main directions and mechanisms of BRIC cooperation).

18 September 2019 at 14:00.

Followed by a press-scrum with Head of BRICS competition authorities.

The Conference also comprises several parallel sessions in the form of Working Group meetings to discuss competition support on BRICS socially important markets:

“Competition on BRICS food markets”: to analyze the achievements ofBRICS Working Group on studying competition issues on the food products markets.

“Developing competition on the automotive markets”: to consider the results of BRICS Working Group in studying competition issues on the automotive markets

17 September 2019 at 11:00-12:30.

“Competition on BRICS digital markets”: to discuss performance ofBRICS Working Group on studying competition issues on the pharmaceutical markets

17 September 2019 at 13:30-15:00.

“Competition on BRICS pharmaceutical markets”: to discuss theresults achieved by BRICS Working Group on studying competition issues on the pharmaceutical markets
