On 9 December 2019, FAS Methodological Council discussed the “theme of the year” and the enlarged structure of the Report* on the state of competition in 2019 to be presented by FAS to the Government of Russia in 2020.
The report structure included assessment of the state of competition in Russia, proposals on developing law and enforcement practice, defining the role of international cooperation as a factor of enhancing efficiency of competition policy and the main problems, trends and proposals towards developing competition on particular sectors.
Chairman of FAS Methodological Council, Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Tsyganov commented the outcome of the discussion: “We considered six possible options as the theme of the year for the Report, including: intellectual property in the context of antimonopoly regulation, development of competition in regions, antimonopoly compliance, 10-year results of BRICS cooperation. The upmost priority, in our opinion, a pressing theme is the role of competition on the National and regional projects in Russia. Experts approved this option unanimously at the meeting on 9 December. The next stage is to approve the Report structure and the theme of the year by FAS Presidium”.
Next time, FAS Methodological Council is going to meet on 26 December 2019.
