FAS AND BASHKORTOSTAN ARE STRENGTHENING COMPETITION DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION
The antimonopoly authority and the region intend to enter in an extended agreement on cooperation
On 24 January 2020, Head of FAS Igor Artemiev and Head of the Republic of Bahskortostan, Radii Khabirov had a meting in Moscow.
The parties discussed pressing issues of antimonopoly regulation, fulfillment of the National Competition Development Plan, and further cooperation.
Pursuing the targets of the National Competition Development Plan, Bashkortostan has achieved good results.
In particular, summarizing the achievements of 2018, the number of violations of the antimonopoly law by the Republican authorities decreased by over 82%, and the share of small and medium companies in procurement exceeded 32%. As of 1 January 2020, the number of unitary enterprises decreased by 19.09% - from 419 in 2019 to 339 in 2020.
On 29 November 2019, Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan passed No.RG-365 Order to mainstream the Road Map for developing competition in the region, which covers 33 markets.
Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service proposed to conclude an extended agreement between the antimonopoly authority and the Republic of Bashkortostan on cooperation in the field of antimonopoly regulation, which would provide for prompt FAS response to the situations threatening the basics of the state policy on competition development.
