THE THIRD CASE UPON SIGNS OF A CARTEL ON THE MARKET OF MEDICAL FACE MASKS SALE

Suppliers in the Udmurtia Republic are suspected of an anticompetitive collusion

On 11 March 2020, Udmurtia OFAS opened a case against “Lesk” Ltd. and a group of persons comprising “Ret” Ltd. and “Nytva-Pharm” Ltd.

 

The competitors fixed the retail price for medical face masks at 22 RUB per item and maintained it. This is the maximum price in Udmurtia.

 

Stats-Secretary, Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Tsarikovsky pointed out: “If it is proved that such economic conduct is caused by a desire to rake in a fortune on the situation and the cartel, the suppliers will face administrative liability in the form of turnover fines upon legal entities and criminal liability for top-executives”.

 

“FAS and its regional Offices pay very careful attention to conduct of participants of market of selling medicinal face masks and drugs, and will apply tough measures against violators”, informed Head of FAS Anti-Cartel Department, Andrey Tenishev.
