HENKEL PARTIALLY IMPLEMENTED THE FAS RUSSIA'S WARNING REGARDING THE PERSIL BRAND

23-07-2020 | 09:30

The information on the powder packaging will be changed

Earlier, in the framework of working relationship with the Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing), the FAS Russia analyzed the differences in the quality of goods of international manufacturers (imported goods, as well as goods produced in the Russian Federation) from similar goods of these manufacturers sold outside the Russian Federation, and the compliance of competitive tactics of such international producers with the Law on Protection of Competition.

Based on the results of the work carried out at the end of 2019, the FAS Russia issued warnings to a number of foreign manufacturers on termination of actions that contain signs of violation of antimonopoly legislation.

In response to the warning, Henkel reported that in the 3rd quarter of 2020 it will start to produce Persil powder with information on the packaging stating that the products are adapted to the quality and safety requirements of the EEU (similar information will be posted on the official website of the producer).

Samples of 3-kilogram packages of powder have already been submitted to the FAS Russia. The FAS Russia considers the placement (type and information content) of such an instruction as a fulfillment of the previously issued warning.

"We continue a constructive dialogue with the producer on the design of other packages of powder and capsules for washing machines of the Persil brand. The execution of the warning regarding the 3-kilogram packages of powder indicates the company's intention to avoid violating the current legislation, which we welcome," said Andrey Kashevarov, Deputy Head of the FAS Russia.

The FAS Russia continues to identify facts related to the problem of dual quality products under the same brand and in the same packaging intended for different markets (Western country, on the one hand, and Central and Eastern Europe, on the other).
