PARTICIPANTS DISCUSSED THE UPDATES AND DEVELOPMENTS OF COMPETITION POLICY IN THEIR ECONOMIES DURING THE CPLG MEETING

The Competition Policy and Law Group (CPLG)¹ of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum held its meeting virtually on 25 February 2021 with the participation of the representative of the Department for International Economic Cooperation of the FAS Russia.

During the meeting, the APEC Secretariat presented information on current and future projects, as well as identified priority areas of work for 2021, which focus on increasing the effectiveness of APEC activities in the field of competition policy, the intensification of mutual information exchange between APEC economies, the organization of capacity-building programs in the form of dialogue or seminars on issues of mutual interest.

Besides, during the meeting, the participants made reports on the developments within their respective competition policy and legal frameworks.

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation is an association of 21 economies of the Asia-Pacific region for cooperation in the field of regional trade and investment facilitation and liberalization. The aim of the APEC is to increase economic growth and prosperity in the region and strengthen the Asia-Pacific community.

The FAS Russia has been actively involved in the work of the APEC Forum's Competition Policy and Law Group for more than 20 years.
