PARTICIPANTS DISCUSSED THE UPDATES AND DEVELOPMENTS OF COMPETITION POLICY IN THEIR ECONOMIES DURING THE CPLG MEETING
The Competition Policy and Law Group (CPLG)1 of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum held its meeting virtually on 25 February 2021 with the participation of the representative of the Department for International Economic Cooperation of the FAS Russia.
During the meeting, the APEC Secretariat presented information on current and future projects, as well as identified priority areas of work for 2021, which focus on increasing the effectiveness of APEC activities in the field of competition policy, the intensification of mutual information exchange between APEC economies, the organization of capacity-building programs in the form of dialogue or seminars on issues of mutual interest.
Besides, during the meeting, the participants made reports on the developments within their respective competition policy and legal frameworks.

1 The CPLG is one of the working bodies of the APEC Forum, which was established in 1996 to encourage market discipline, promote economic efficiency and eliminate distortions. The group promotes understanding of regional competition laws and policies, examines their impact on trade and investment flows, and identifies areas for technical cooperation and capacity building among member economies.
