PUBLIC COUNCIL UNDER THE FAS RUSSIA STARTED TO WORK WITH THE NEW MEMBERSHIP

The Public Council under the FAS Russia held its first meeting with the new membership. The event was held at the platform of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.

Maxim Shaskolsky, Head of the FAS Russia, addressed the meeting participants with a welcoming speech: “The FAS Russia is working to create a long-term and understandable for market participants procedure for the execution of the Authority’s powers, maintaining a balance between producers and consumers. The main priorities of our work are to promote the job creation, attract investment and develop competition. We look forward to constructive and professional interaction with the members of the Public Chamber for the successful implementation of the tasks set by the Government of the Russian Federation.”

Andrey Sharonov was elected as Chairman of the new Public Council under the FAS Russia. Valery Bodrenkov was elected as Deputy Chairman.

The new Public Council includes 28 representatives of the major business associations, such as OPORA RUSSIA, Business Russia, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Russia, Association of Antitrust Experts, as well as leading universities: Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Moscow School of Management "Skolkovo".

At the first meeting with the new membership, the Public Council discussed the work plan for 2021 and summed up the activities of the previous membership.

The Public Council is permanent advisory and consultative body of public control.

Its main objectives: to exercise public control over the activities of the FAS Russia, including reviewing projects developed by socially significant regulatory legal acts; to participate in monitoring the quality of public services, the implementation of control and supervisory functions, the progress of anti-corruption and personnel work, evaluating the effectiveness of public procurement, reviewing the annual plans of the FAS Russia and the report on its implementation.

Meetings of the Public Council under the FAS Russia are held at least once a quarter.
