FAS OPENED A CASE AGAINST COMPANIES WORKING AT ROLLED METAL PRODUCTS MARKET
Indications of price fixing have been established between JSC Steel Industrial Company, Metal rolled service center LLC, company STROYTEHCENTR LLC 1, A Group LLC, URALMETALLSTROY LLC, Equipment and supply management LLC, Metal Trading company KRASO.
In connection with the steep increase in prices for rolled metal (rebar, sheet and model metal, pipes) in the fourth quarter of 2020, as well as received statements from citizens, organizations and authorities about a possible increase in the cost of housing construction due to rising prices for building materials, the FAS Russia conducted inspections of a number of organizations, made the necessary requests and analyzed the received data.
Based on the results of the analysis of the information, the antimonopoly authority found indications of an anti-competitive agreement when bidding for the supply of rolled metal.
If a violation is established2, turnover-based fines3 can be imposed on companies.
