FAS REPORTED ABOUT ENSURING TRANSPARENCY OF THE AIRLINES SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR INTERNATIONAL ROUTES

The Ministry of Transport executed a warning of the FAS Russia and developed a new procedure for admitting companies to international transportation

An audit in 2019 of the Administrative regulations of the Federal Agency for Air Transport on the admission of carriers to international air transportation showed that it contains provisions that establish discriminatory conditions for airlines. The FAS of Russia issued a warning to the Ministry of Transport to amend the document.

The new procedure eliminates unreasonable selection criteria, as well as the possibility of non-competitive consideration of the issue of transfer of admission from one carrier to another. It establishes measurable admission criteria and ensures information transparency in calculation of the scores of each carrier.

Thus, the procedure developed by the Ministry of Transport meet all the requirements of the antimonopoly body. The amendments ensure the transparency of the airlines selection procedure for international routes and promote healthy competition.
