THE HEAD OF FAS JOINED THE SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL OF THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES

The Board of the Council consists of the Head of FAS Maxim Shaskolsky, the States Secretary - Deputy Head of FAS Sergey Puzyrevsky, Deputy Heads of FAS Gennady Magazinov and Timofey Nizhegorodtsev, as well as the Heads of a number of departments of the authority. The advisory body aims to involve the resources and specialists of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the development of competition, including the area of science and higher education

Previously, FAS and the Russian Academy of Sciences signed a cooperation agreement. It provides for the involvement of the scientific community in the issues of competition development, joint work on the improvement of competition in Russian economy and countering anti-competitive practices in cross-border markets, as well as for the information and analytical work on the development of a system for preventing violations of the antimonopoly law.

In 2015, with the participation of FAS, the RAS Scientific Council on Competition Protection was established, which was later transformed into the Scientific Council on Competition Protection and Development. Within the framework of the Scientific Council, a number of issues in the field of decartelization of the economy, legal support for international cooperation in countering anti-competitive practices, the development of competition in the field of science and higher education were worked out.
