This is how Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Kashevarov explained choosing Gagarin Saratov State Technical University as the base for opening a FAS centre.

28 April 2016 was the day of the official ceremony of opening a Corporate Competence Centre of Gagarin Saratov State Technical University and Saratov OFAS marking the 25th anniversary of establishing FAS regional bodies. Rector of Saratov State Technical University, Igor Pleve; Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Kashevarov; Head of FAS Department for Control over Advertising and Unfair Competition, Nikolai Kartashov; Head of Saratov OFAS, Lyudmila Borisova; and Dean of the International Faculty of Applied Information Technologies, Saratov State Technical University, Olga Dolinina, participated in the official opening ceremony.  

The Corporate Competence Centre of Gagarin Saratov State Technical University and Saratov OFAS is formed on the basis of the International Faculty of Applied Information Technologies to train students and retrain experience specialists, offer advanced qualification courses in such popular areas as tariff regulation, advertising regulation, public defence procurement.

Participants were demonstrated technical projects of the University on creating modern advertisements.

Answering questions from young journalists representing Student TV at Saratov State Technical University and a correspondent of “Saratov” State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company, Andrey Kashevarov pointed out that “FAS undertakes focused competition advocacy efforts, and opening such centres and profile Departments is an important element of such work”.

Andrey Kashevarov explained choosing Saratov State Technical University as the base for a FAS centre: "It is known that progress is driven by initiative. Here it was taken and we happily supported the idea".

Lyudmila Borisova drew attention to practical focus in the work of the Centre. She pointed out:  “Students can apply the gained knowledge through involvement in our cases”.

Confirming this statement, students specializing in "Advertising and Public Relations" and university lecturers took part in an on-site session of the Expert Council of Saratov OFAS on enforcement of the advertising law. They were able to hear the expert opinions discussing whether the “Win your action” outdoor advertisement conformed to the law on advertising and present their position on the issue.

The first lecture for students and lecturers of the Technical University under the frame of the Centre was given by Andrey Kashevarov. It was devoted to the pressing issues of the advertising law and enforcement.
